Spring Break

Remember this Tuesday, March 21 we will not meet due to spring break. We will see you back on March 28.

Make up School Pictures on April 4

If you missed the first opportunity for school pictures, you have one more chance! Jerry Kramer is returning on April 4 at 11:30 to catch the rest of students who missed in November and any new students who joined this semester. Remember, we wish to have everyones pictures for the school year book. You do not have to pay for that picture, but do have the option of ordering a variety of photographs for yourself if you want to.

Yearbook General Pictures

Teachers, there are only about 7 more class periods to get pictures of your classes. Please remember to be taking pictures and sending them to Lori. If it is hard for you to take them, please request a "photographer" to Lori or the Advisory Council.

Parents, if you have been taking any pictures, please send them to Lori or the REACH email for possible use in the school year book.  We would rather have too many to weed out than not very many. Let's capture those memories!

Mark Your Calendars for May 6; 6pm

This year we are even more excited about our end of the year celebration which takes place on Saturday, May 6 at 6pm. This is a great opportunity for our homeschool students to be able to show some of their work to parents, grandparents and other special guests. Teachers will have some of the students' work on display from the different classes, in addition we have the Creative Arts & Drama classes performing a short play and musical selections. Back by popular demand (of the students themselves!) will be a Living History Museum from the elementary and middle school classes. Because of all the activities this year, we will be having hors d'oeuvres and snacks instead of a full potluck meal. Details for this evening will be coming out closer to time.

Field Trip on January 27:

Kansas Day at theMuseum is Friday, January 27. Please see the administration table for information and to sign up.

Valentine's Day:

Each year our students enjoy treating their friends to kind words and candy in celebration of Valentine's Day. This year it falls on a Tuesday, so it will be easy to remember! We have been treated to more than just yummy bites as we enjoy seeing the creativity of the students' containers made to collect their valentines from their classmates. The Enrolled REACH Facebook group and the administration table will have more details, including the numbers of kids in each group.

The KinderPrep and Kindergarten classes will celebrate within each class and can take their treats and containers right to their own classrooms. The elementary students will combine to exchange and are to put their containers on the entry way tables. Middle school students will exchange with each other and will have a separate table by the kitchen door on which to put their containers. The elementary and middle school bags/boxes etc will remain out on the tables until after lunch, allowing time to be filled by students coming in on different schedules. Half way through lunch, when we hope most of the healthy food has been eaten, we will announce when the elementary and older can retrieve their containers, and parent approved goodies can be eaten!

School Resumes Tuesday, January 10 

We are looking forward to seeing everyone again! Check your class descriptions or emails from teachers to remember what your students need to bring to class. Remember to label whatever you can! Please see Shirley at the administration table for any paperwork you may have as well as to find a place to take a turn serving in some way.

Road Construction Update:

The intersection at 21st Street and Indian Hills is complete and traffic is flowing through the new roundabout! Note, there are signs saying that 21st will be closed at Wanamaker beginning January 9.   

Pizza Lunches: 

The option of ordering pizza for lunch will resume with the second week of school. Bring your lunch this first week.

Enrollment for Spring Semester 2017 is underway. Open enrollment for families not currently attending, began November 25. You will find class schedule and information under the semester page tab. The Parents page has the links to enrollment forms.

Thank you to everyone who helped our kids have a wonderful Christmas Party! Judging from all the laughter, smiles, food crumbs, and wrapping paper, they had a great time. Each of the  different parties had such fun things for their group to do! 

If you took pictures at the parties, please email them to Lori, our year book coordinator, for possible inclusion in the year book. Let's bury her in pictures! If you don't have Lori's email, you can send them to the REACH email to be passed on to her.

Road Construction:

Construction at SW 21st Street and Indian Hills intersection leaves access to the church parking lot only from Indian Hills road. You can come from the south on Indian Hills Road. Before the intersection there is an access road to get to 21st Street. Use it to get past the church's closed 21st Street parking lot entrance, go west on 21st to West Trail Road, which is the first right hand turn, then right on SW 19th Street to the stop sign at Indian Hills Road. Turn right and you can access the church from the Indian Hills parking lot entrance.

If you are on 21st heading east toward Indian Hills, turn left at West Trail Road, before you get to the church. (look for a white picket fence with stone entrance headers) then right on SW 19th Street and right onto Indian Hills.

You can also access Indian Hills Road from SW 10th Street.
